It was written and directed by Mohit Suri. The film's music was composed by Sachin-Jigar while the cinematography was done by Rajeev Ravi. The film has garnered a positive response from critics. Mohit Suri came up with an idea for this movie when he was in the US, and after returning to India, took three years to complete the script. The story is about middle-class girl Dhruv (Saiyami Kher), who does not believe in love. However, she eventually meets her ideal man in Aman (Raqesh Vashisth). Aman's dad, Viren (Dharmendra) is a cruel husband and father who has had enough of his son's family "damaad" lifestyle. He locks him inside in his room. In the meantime, Dhruv goes through a lot to save a puppy who has been hit by a speeding car. Tired of being treated like a doormat, she vows to never be "damaad-like" again. Meanwhile, Viren's wife Priyanka (Anita Kapoor) secretly takes her son's love letters and burns them for fear of his affections being tainted. Later when she meets Aman, she realises that he has feelings for his father's wife and does not want to marry her son. Viren is extremely happy to see his son again. He relents, and accepts that his son has to marry Dhruv. Meanwhile, Aman admits his love for Dhruv to her parents, who are delighted to hear the news. But he requests them to keep it a secret so that Viren does not get angered. However, Viren gets angry with them for letting Aman live in the house and insults their family tradition (which they consider as pure). After one night, when Aman comes back home very late, his father beats him up badly. An angry Dhruv calls Viren's wife at midnight for help but is shocked when she comes there with two bodyguards (Rajpal Yadav) following her. Dhruv's mother-in-law forces her to drink the alcohol which she was trying to save for her father's birthday. The bodyguards push Viren, Dhruv and Aman into their car and drive away. They are taken to a deserted place where the bodyguard gives them some time to spend with each other before taking them back. At that moment, when Aman goes inside his father's room, Viren collapses due to a heart attack. Even though they try to save him in vain, he dies.
